SocialDatabase is a Twitter Partner that creates custom audiences on the platform. We are trying to enter the Japanese market but we face some challenges and we need your help. Japan is the second biggest Twitter market with more than 50 million active users and responsible for 13% of the total revenue. In the last few years we have had contact with teams in Japan, but unfortunately without much success. We have noticed that there’s a gap between the language and cultural differences. 

About you

As a Sales/Account/Social Media Manager of an innovative tech startup you are a team player who will play a critical role in our expansion to the Japanese market. 

We are looking for a native Japanese and English speaker who understands Japanese culture. Besides fluent speaking Japanese and cultural understanding we prefer someone with affinity in marketing or sales. We need you to enter the Japanese market successfully and to scale up our business globally.

Your responsibilities

  • You are the bridge between the Japanese and SocialDatabase.
  • Find growth opportunities in the Japanese market.
  • Create strategic plans to penetrate the Japanese market.
  • Ensure optimal communication skills.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements of internal processes and efficiencies across teams and project team members.
  • Build strong relationships with clients.
  • Make sure that our Japanese clients are happy with their results.

Skills and background

  • 3 - 5 years of work experience as an Account Director, Account Manager, Business Development Manager or Social Media Manager.
  • Affinity with digital marketing/advertising.
  • Strong with driving operational excellence, and working most effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong hands-on and can-do mentality.
  • A strong personality who is able to work autonomously.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English, other languages are a plus.
  • Understanding of the Japanese (business) culture.
  • Team player.
